FAQ
Is Ju Jitsu for me?
Who knows! But, we’re a friendly bunch, so pop down and have a chat with us, watch a lesson – or just have a go and decide.
Do I have to be fit to start?
In a word, no! We will discuss your fitness with you when you start, and make accommodations if necessary. While Ju Jitsu isn’t a sport, it is certainly a good form of exercise which will improve your overall fitness.
How much does it cost?
Your first lesson is free and, if you decide you want to carry on, lessons are £5/each and, after a month, you will need to pay Membership and Insurance (£20 per year). There’s no direct debits or contracts to sign and the only other cost will be a gi (training uniform) – we have affordable gis available to purchase, or you are welcome to purchase elsewhere – we just ask that it is a plain white judo gi.
Is it safe?
While there is an inherent risk of injury practicing any martial art, we offer an extremely safe training environment with qualified black belt instructors who are very experienced. All of our instructors are members of The British Martial Arts & Boxing Association, who also provide our insurance and DBS certification where required.
